Social media

We maintain online presences within social networks and platforms in order to communicate with the customers, interested parties and users active there and to inform them about our services there. We would like to point out that user data may be processed outside the European Union. This can result in risks for users because, for example, it could make it more difficult to enforce users’ rights. With regard to US providers certified under the Privacy Shield, we point out that they thereby commit to comply with EU data protection standards. Furthermore, user data is usually processed for market research and advertising purposes. For example, usage profiles can be created from the usage behaviour and resulting interests of the users. The usage profiles can in turn be used, for example, to place advertisements within and outside the platforms that presumably correspond to the interests of the users. For these purposes, cookies are usually stored on the users’ computers in which the usage behaviour and interests of the users are stored. Furthermore, data may also be stored in the usage profiles irrespective of the devices used by the users (especially if the users are members of the respective platforms and are logged in to them). The processing of users’ personal data is based on our legitimate interests in effectively informing users and communicating with users pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f. GDPR. If users are asked by the respective providers to consent to data processing (i.e. declare their consent, e.g. by ticking a checkbox or confirming a button), the legal basis for processing is Article 6 Para.1 lit. a., Art. 7 GDPR. For a detailed description of the respective processing and the options to object (opt-out), please refer to the information of the providers linked below. Also in the case of requests for information and the assertion of user rights, we point out that these can be asserted most effectively with the providers. Only the providers have access to the users’ data and can directly take appropriate measures and provide information. If you still need help, you can contact us.

Facebook

Our website uses social plugins (“plugins”) of the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plugins are marked with a Facebook logo or the addition “Facebook Social Plugin”. When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. Facebook transmitts the content of the plugin directly to your browser, which integrates it into the website. By integrating the plugin, Facebook receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website. If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can then associated your visit to our website to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the “Like” button or leaving a comment, the corresponding information is transmitted directly from your browser to Facebook and stored there. Information on the purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy. If you do not want Facebook to collect data about you via our website, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. Facebook’s privacy policy can be found at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/.

Instagram

Data protection provisions on the use and application of Instagram.
The person responsible for the processing has integrated components of the Instagram service on this website. Instagram is a service that qualifies as an audio-visual platform and allows users to share photos and videos and also to redistribute such data on other social networks. The operating company of the Instagram services is Instagram LLC, 1 Hacker Way, Building 14 First Floor, Menlo Park, CA, USA. Each time one of the individual pages of this website operated by the data controller is called up and on which an Instagram component (Insta button) has been integrated, the Internet browser on the information technology system of the person concerned is automatically caused by the respective Instagram component to download a representation of the corresponding component from Instagram. As part of this technical procedure, Instagram receives information about which specific sub-page of our website is visited by the person concerned. If the person concerned is logged into Instagram at the same time, Instagram recognises which specific sub-page the person concerned is visiting each time the person concerned calls up our website and for the entire duration of the respective stay on our website. This information is collected by the Instagram component and assigned by Instagram to the respective Instagram account of the person concerned. If the person concerned activates one of the Instagram buttons integrated on our website, the data and information thus transmitted will be assigned to the personal Instagram user account of the person concerned and stored and processed by Instagram. Instagram always receives information via the Instagram component that the person concerned has visited our website if the person concerned is simultaneously logged into Instagram at the time of calling up our website; this takes place regardless of whether the person concerned clicks on the Instagram component or not. If the person concerned does not want this information to be transmitted to Instagram, they can prevent the transmission by logging out of their Instagram account before accessing our website logs out. Further information and Instagram’s applicable privacy policy can be found at https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388 and https://www.instagram.com/about/legal/privacy/.

Google Analytics

Data protection provisions on the use and application of Google Analytics (with anonymisation function).
We, the website operator, have integrated the Google Analytics component (with anonymisation function) on our website. Google Analytics is a web analysis service. Web analysis is the collection, collation, and evaluation of data on the behaviour of visitors to websites. Among other things, a web analysis service collects data concerning from which website a person concerned came to a website (so-called referrers), which sub- pages of the website were accessed or how often and for how long a sub-page was viewed. A web analysis is mainly used to optimise a website and to analyse the cost/benefit of Internet advertising. The operating company of the Google Analytics component is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. We use the addition “_gat._anonymizeIp” for web analysis via Google Analytics. By means of this addition, the IP address of the Internet connection of the person concerned is shortened and anonymised by Google if access to our websites is made from a member state of the European Union or from another contracting state to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The purpose of the Google Analytics component is to analyse the flow of visitors to our website. Google uses the data and information collected for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to the use of our website. Google Analytics sets a cookie on the information technology system of the person concerned. By setting the cookie, Google is enabled to analyse the use of our website. Each time a person concerned accesses one of the individual pages of this website operated by the data controller on which a Google Analytics component has been integrated, the Internet browser on the person concerned’s information technology system is automatically triggered by the respective Google Analytics component to transmit data to Google for the purpose of online analysis. As part of this technical procedure, Google obtains knowledge of personal data, such as the IP address of the person concerned, which Google uses, among other things, to trace the origin of visitors and clicks and subsequently to enable commission calculations. By means of the cookie, personal information, such as the access time, the place from which an access originated and the frequency of visits to our website by the person concerned, for example, is stored. Each time you visit our website, this personal data – including the IP address of the Internet connection used by the person concerned – is transmitted to Google in Ireland. This personal data is stored by Google Ireland. Google may share this personal data collected through the technical process with third parties. The person concerned can prevent the setting of cookies by our website, as already described above, at any time by means of an appropriate setting of the Internet browser used and thus permanently object to the setting of cookies. Such a setting of the Internet browser used would also prevent Google from setting a cookie on the information technology system of the person concerned. In addition, any cookie already set by Google Analytics can be deleted at any time via the Internet browser or other software programmes. Furthermore, the person concerned has the option of objecting to the collection of data generated by Google Analytics and related to the use of this website as well as to the processing of this data by Google and to prevent such processing. For this purpose, the person concerned must download and install a browser add-on under the link https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This browser add-on tells Google Analytics via JavaScript that no data and information about visits to websites may be transmitted to Google Analytics. The installation of the browser add-on is interpreted by Google as an objection. If the information technology system of the person concerned is deleted, formatted or reinstalled at a later point in time, the person concerned must reinstall the browser add-on in order to deactivate Google Analytics. If the browser add-on is uninstalled or deactivated by the person concerned or another person within his or her control, it is possible to reinstall or reactivate the browser add-on. Further information and Google’s applicable privacy policy can be found at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/ and at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html. Google Analytics is explained in more detail at https://www.google.com/intl/de_de/analytics/.
